Wow, what a wonderful spell of weather where having down here in central and northern southland. The rivers are at a real beaut level which allows for easy wading so that you can access miles upon miles of Oreti river and Mataura river. This was a lovely brown that John boy Broughton hooked in the mid Oreti on a stretch of Oreti river that not to many other Anglers get to fish. Talk to you all again soon, Cheers KiwiPete

Theres been some great flyfishing lately. This was taken just before xmas by young Bob from Southern California on the Oreti. He was a real challenge to catch on a small nymph in a backwater.

Gedday fellow flyfishers, I had to show you this great footage I took at the beginning of last season. Brown trout fishing ,with small dry flies and even smaller nymphs to large fish in crystal clear water, producing the battle of a lifetime. Just the sound of insects, bird song and flowing water interrupted regulary by whoops of joy and appreciation of the battle won. Gedday fellow flyfishers,welcome to my first blog. I attended the Rise Film festival in Invercargill, which is New Zealand,s southern most city,and was the premiere of the new flyfishing film ” THE SOURCE- New Zealand”. I along with some other 100 people were blown away and enthralled by this beautifully presented high definition,over an hour long movie.The cinematography was excellent, and no expense was spared in capturing the wild beauty of Fiordland and Southland, making one want to get straight out there and land one of the many monster brown trout featured in this film.
